There are few things that I will take note when I'm in the real world of teaching.
- Be ready and well prepared before entering the class. This is because the students might ask questions to teachers to answer.
- Set rules and regulations so that the students respect the teacher.
- Provide a rotational seating for all students. Means that, every students will rotate their seats weekly and will not be seating at the same place everyday. This will make satisfaction among the students.
- Remember all the students' name. This is because the students will realize that teachers do take care of them and this will increase the respects towards the teacher.
- Carry out class activity which makes the students to be focused. For example, the teachers can conduct mini games in the class like crossword puzzles, hangman, and quizzes.
Hi Saktiswari. Yes! I'm agree with you about what you have said in the reflection above. For the example, remember all the students' name. This is always happen when teacher cannot remember students' name especially when it still first school term. Mostly, teachers will remember the students who is very active or naughty in the classroom. Sometimes, we as students will assume that teachers are bias when they can't remember our names. So, to avoid this, maybe teachers should instruct students to introduce themselves by using the simple name. For the example, "Am" stand for Ammaruddin. Hopefully, there is no same name of students in the class. Hahahaha.... Next, you also said that providing a rotational seating for all students can make satisfaction among them. Why if they don't want to change their place? Maybe because of the place situated very strategic in the classroom. Some students always want to seat together with his/her best friend without mixing with other students. So, you as a teacher, how can you handle this situation in order to create fairness among students?
ReplyDeleteHi Adli. Okay you asked me How if the students don't want to change their place right. Well, the students are supposed to obey to teacher's instruction. Whenever the teacher ask their students to change place, then they should do it. As you said, maybe some students want to choose a strategic place for themselves but remember every students should be given the chance of seating at different place. For example, the students that sits at the back will have that feeling to sit at he front. So, I think this rotational seating will create fairness among students.

Thanks Saktiswari for replying my comment. Hmmm...as you have said, maybe I should apply rotational seating in my classroom in order to create fairness among students. So, by doing that, I can look for the student's progress more further. Thank you Saktiswari for your suggestion.

DeleteHi sathis. I agree with you when you said set rules and regulations where this is how you want your students respect you. Unfortunately nowadays, students do not follow the rules and regulations anymore. They try to create their own rules and regulations. My question is, how you want to handle this kind of students ? how you want to ensure that your students will follow this rules and regulation? Using threat or reward?
ReplyDeleteThank you.
Hi Umi. In this case, I will use reward strategy to ensure the students follow the rules and regulations. Nowadays, the students are expecting rewards from the teachers whenever they asked to do something. For example, the students expects the teacher give them rewards in terms of praise or gift when the students scored good result in their examination. I think this how reward strategy works for students to follow the rules and regulations.
